IRON MAN 3: Has Production Begun?
According to Star News Online, Iron Man 3 has begun production at Wilmington, North Carolina's EUE/Screen Gems Studios, with a reported astronomical budget of $200 million. Of course, with The Avengers' box office, Disney can afford it.
Says the site, "The film, a Marvel Studios/Disney production, opened offices at the studios in January. The production, which is expected to have a budget upwards of $200 million, will create 550 'high-quality, well-paying jobs' and 1,000 talent opportunities, according to the N.C. Governor’s Office. In April, thousands of people turned out for an extras casting call at Independence Mall for 'Caged Heat,' a title known as one of the code names for Iron Man 3.
"Earlier this month, 'Iron Works Productions' submitted a filming permit application to the City of Wilmington on behalf of the film 'Caged' for permission to close down Chestnut Street between 2nd and 3rd streets from 5 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29. Two cast members, about 20 extras and 150 crew members will film an office scene at Cape Fear Club at 206 Chestnut St., according to the permit application."
