The Beast Becomes a Giant Killer!
Nicholas Hoult, who will be playing Beast in this summer's X-Men: First Class, is close to signing on for the lead role in Bryan Singer's Jack the Giant Killer, which will be his biggest role to date.
Reports Deadline, "Scripted by Christopher McQuarrie, Mark Bomback and Darren Lemke, Jack the Giant Killer is a scary revisionist take on the Jack and the Beanstalk mythology and Hoult will play a farmer who leads an expedition into the giants' kingdom to rescue a kidnapped princess. Bill Nighy, Stanley Tucci and John Kassir were recently cast."
Singer had previously worked with McQuarrie on The Usual Suspects and Valkyrie.
