A Word From Dexter Creator Jeff Lindsay
Double Dexter, the sixth novel featuring serial killer Dexter Morgan (who has inspired the Showtime series focusing on the character) will be published on October 18th, but author Jeff Lindsay is concerned that people may be idolizing his creation.
"Some believe that Dexter cares about justice. Dexter doesn't care about justice, he cares about killing. He's attractive because he's dangerous. It's a mistake to think that Dexter is nice. He's not nice - people romanticise him. He's a serial killer. We like him because he has a code that make us feel better about him," Lindsay explains to London's The Telegraph.
For the record, the author is working on book seven now, and a member of Dexter's family is going to die in it -- though he ain't saying who.
